are all kpop groups/solo acts seen as just idols in korea or are there some exceptions?
i understand and agree that those who just sing and dance whatever company gives them and at the same don't exhibit any remarkable musical talents (at least to be able to pull off these songs given by company) shouldn't be called anything more than "idol" but how about the small percentage that actually write their stuff, compose or even just sing very well? still idols aka ~disney stars to koreans or maybe they acknowledge it and think of them as a separate group? if not then what are the criteria to be seen as an actual arist according to k-public?
