Just so you guys know, I like American pop a lot, but there is a lot better stuff in K-pop in my opinion.
1. Better visuals
K-pop music videos are just a lot more fun and exciting and just better backgrounds. And there is much more to offer in the videos. For example, G-Dragon Crayon, BTS Dope, Suju Mamacita and Got7 A.
2. Better choreography
I know there is a lot of American pop videos with good choreography but, K-pop idols can do it a lot better. And the dancing just adds a lot to the music video. And they have very cool dances that if American idols can't do.
3. Amount of effort put in their career
As you know there is some idols in America who just come to the studio and just put autotune and then already become a singer. I know some American idols put effort too, but K-pop does it a lot more. K-pop idols train up to 5-8 years before even recording. And they use those years to be a good idol and a good dancer.
4. Rappers don't rap about bad stuff
A lot of raps in America are about drugs, money and cars. That's why I don't really listen to American rap. And a lot of K-pop rappers rap about hard life, inspiration and having fun. I know there is some rappers in America that sing about that too (For example, Still Growing Up by Mackelmore.). But K-pop rappers aren't focused on drugs and K-pop rappers don't get arrested all the time.
